Hawkeye Hockey Services Welcomes Layne Sedevie to the Staff
Minnesota — 1/12/2026 — Hawkeye Hockey Services is proud to announce that Layne Sedevie has joined the organization, further strengthening its commitment to elite player development, hockey education, and comprehensive support for athletes at all levels.
Layne brings a strong hockey background, a passion for teaching the game, and a player-first approach that aligns seamlessly with Hawkeye Hockey Services’ mission of developing confident, complete hockey players both on and off the ice. Known for his work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to connect with athletes, Layne will play an integral role in on-ice instruction, skill development, and program growth.

Layne Sedevie shared his enthusiasm about joining the organization, stating, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of Hawkeye Hockey Services. The standards, vision, and passion for development here are special, and I’m excited to contribute and grow alongside the staff and athletes.”
Layne joins Hawkeye after 15 years behind the bench with the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL), where he built one of the most respected programs in junior hockey. During his tenure, he compiled a 454–302–70 record, captured three Central Division Playoff Championships, a Central Division Regular Season Championship, and helped guide the Bobcats to their first Robertson Cup.
A Bismarck native, Layne played his high school hockey at Bismarck High School, followed by time in the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede and Topeka Scarecrows. His playing career earned him a Division I scholarship to Bemidji State University, where he spent four years in goal, before a brief professional stint with the Youngstown Steelhounds (CHL).
Layne has also built a proven track record of developing elite goaltenders and players who have advanced to Division I, professional, and NHL levels, including:

- Tomas Anderson (2025 NAHL MVP – Niagara)
- Hunter Shepard (UMD / Belleville Senators – NHL GP)
- Ryan Faragher (SCSU – AHL/ECHL)
