We are thrilled to announce the opening of tryout registrations for the highly anticipated Hawks AAA Program. This program is designed for dedicated and passionate hockey players looking to participate in an environment of elevated development.
Hawks AAA is a new AAA hockey program under Hawkeye Hockey Services. Four birth-year teams — 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 — are all based in the Twin Cities metro. Professional coaches. Master-rated power skating. An NHLPA-certified agent for every family. July off for multi-sport athletes. All for under $3,000.
THE PROGRAM
Four teams. One standard. No B teams.
Each Hawks AAA team is built around a professional coaching staff and a curated roster of 15 skaters, 2 goalies, and 3 practice players. Ten spots per team are filled by invitation. The remaining spots are earned at our August open tryout.
The season runs May 15 through August 15. July is off — built for families whose players compete in lacrosse, baseball, and other summer sports. Practices run twice per week. Every team competes in four tournaments with four guaranteed games each.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
Every Hawks AAA player receives the following as part of their program fee — no add-ons, no extra charges:
Power skating — Carey Tinkelenberg, triple master-rated skating coach and ISU Coach Developer, delivers three dedicated power skating sessions per team built directly into the practice schedule.
Position-specific development — Three dedicated position sessions per team built into the practice schedule. Defenseman sessions and forward sessions run separately, led by your team’s coaching staff.
Post-tournament video — After every tournament, Mark Abalan delivers a professional video session to your coaching staff covering breakouts, defensive zone, power play, and penalty kill.
End-of-season player video — Every player receives a personalized 6-8 minute narrated video analysis from Mark Abalan at season’s end, delivered electronically.
Annual pathway webinar — Josh Petrich, NHLPA-certified player agent, delivers a group pathway session for all Hawks AAA families covering scout criteria, D-I recruitment timelines, and the junior hockey landscape.
