2027 Power Skating
— Older
Skating is the separator
By the time a player reaches high school hockey, skating is what separates the players who can execute from the players who can only think it.
Eight weeks on edges, stride mechanics, and the habits that hold up at speed and under pressure.
How a session runs
Every session opens with fifteen minutes of film. Get dressed, come to the video room in gear, see the skating detail on screen — the edge, the knee bend, the crossover — then walk out and produce it on the ice for an hour. Seventy-five minutes at the rink, start to finish.
Skating corrections are hard to hear and easy to see. Watching the detail before you’re asked to execute it is the difference between being told and understanding.
It has to transfer
Clean edges in a drill mean nothing if they disappear the moment a puck is on your stick.
Every mechanic trained here gets executed with the puck, in situations pulled from real games — tight turns with pressure closing, transitions into a live read, acceleration with somewhere to go. The goal isn’t a prettier stride. It’s skating that holds up on game night.
